When my mom and I started creating low-content books together, we were happy to stay "under cover." Both of us introverts, we much prefer to stay behind the scenes. The books were her idea in the first place–she was preparing for retirement and wanted a little project to keep her busy. Low-content books fit the bill with an opportunity for her to hone her painting and creative skills with little pressure.
Before too long, that "little project" turned into a bigger project when I started writing children's books. That was never part of the plan, it just kind of happened, and turned out to be fun! Now we've had a crash course in self publishing (with much more still to learn!) and we're having a great time creating together.
This is a space where we'll share our journey–stories behind our books, thoughts on self publishing, and the intersection between our books and our real lives.
